3 New Responsive and Minimal Free WordPress Themes for September 2012

What can I say, I’m a sucker for free WordPress themes. I guess that’s what comes with being an old-school WordPress user. So in hommage of all those brave web designers producing free themes for the benefit of the WordPress community, I decided to make a video about 3 new responsive and minimal free WordPress themes.

These themes have several things in common, firstly they’re all responsive layouts so they will automatically resize to fit whatever screen size you’re using them on. Secondly, they are all very minimal, clean and bright themes with a professional feel. They are best suited for personal blogs. Thirdly, they are completely free to download and manipulate. Each one has been released under a GPL license. Finally, they have all been released on the WordPress.org theme repository. This is important because it means they’ve been checked for malicious scripts. So use them with confidence.

1. Montezuma 6 WordPress Theme by BytesForAll

Montezuma is a responsive, totally customizable, search engine optimized HTML5/CSS3 theme with various CSS3/jQuery animations.

elegantWhite is an awesome Theme for your blog. It has lots of great features like post thumbnails or custom menus in Header and Footer. In addition, it contains a full-width-template and a template without the heading. The theme supports two languages at the moment: English and German.

3. Hum WordPress Theme by Daryl Koopersmith

The last word…

As always, I love to interact with visitors to this blog, so don’t be shy and please let me know what you think about these themes. Would you use one of them? If so what for? If not, why? What are some of the awesome free WordPress themes you’ve come across lately?

Awesome. It’s great to know that there are responsive themes in the WordPress repository. Thanks for this very cool article. Was searching around for free themes when I stumbled across your site. Before I go though, what do you think about some of the sites offering free WP themes? Do you know of any sites that have any great free theme to download without worrying about malicious scripts? Cheers!
